Vision on entrepreneurship
Sustainable development is one of the core values of WannaBike. We realize that in different ways. Moreover we think cooperation on a broader scale is important.
First of all, taking people into nature, is the only way to make sure that they become aware of the assets of this island, and how important it is to sustain them. Furthermore, we help with clean ups on the island, for example organized by Stichting Uniek Curacao or Carmabi. We need the help of these organizations whenever we develop trails, to prevent damaging rare vegetation or bird nests. And of course we try to keep the island clean, and keep an eye on people who dump garbage, and on vehicles which drive in area’s which are prohibited for motorized traffic. Besides sustainable entrepreneurship, constructing a network of partners and suppliers is an important aspect of my way of doing business. As a small entrepreneur, I join efforts in terms of marketing and sharing personnel.

What can you do?
It all starts with taking your own responsibility. Here are our tips, very easy to integrate in your life. :
- call the environmental police whenever you see someone spoiling nature. (phone: 917)
- Be aware what you buy, check where it’s produced and how it’s packaged.
- Use LED lights. LED lights consume less energy and last longer. You can buy them at

- Buy fair trade and organic products
- Minimalize the use of plastic (bags). Take you own bag also to Chinese snack or toko
- Re-use you plastic bottle, we have great tap water at Curacao
- Re-print you paper
- Invest in higher quality printer to prevent buying cartridges too often.
- Hand in your reprinted paper at Van Rumpt Recycling,

- Install cisterns and construct “Green”, ask for professional advice
- Report illegal dumping (phone: 917).

How can you help?
